FAQ

Questions people ask

What does the checker actually look at?

One page of your site, plus your robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt. We check whether AI bots are allowed in, whether your text is in the page itself, whether basic signals like a canonical link are in place, and how the page is written, such as a short answer near the top and a last-updated date.

Will a high score get me mentioned by ChatGPT or Perplexity?

No one can promise that, and we do not. A high score means AI tools can reach and read the page. Whether they mention you depends on many things we cannot see or control.

Does this track whether ChatGPT mentions my brand?

No. It checks whether AI tools can reach and read your page, which has to be true before they can use it. Tracking mentions is a different kind of tool.

Why does my score differ from other tools?

We only give points for checks backed by Strong or Moderate evidence. Other tools may also score things with weaker evidence behind them. Each of our checks links to its source, so you can judge for yourself.

Why do you not score lists, FAQs or structured data?

We could not find a study showing they help. For lists and tables we found no published result at all. For FAQ sections and structured data, the numbers we found point slightly the other way. We still show them, with their sources, so you can decide.

Where do your sources come from?

The AI companies' own documentation, Google's guidance, and large studies by search companies such as Ahrefs and SE Ranking. We read each one at its original page. Every check on your report and on How it works links to its sources and shows the date we last checked them.

Why did I get "Could not check"?

Some sites block automated visitors like ours, often through a security service. Or the address returned an error, such as "page not found", so check the address and try again. Either way it is not a fail, so we give no score. AI bots may still get in, and we still show your robots.txt result.

Does blocking GPTBot or ClaudeBot cost me points?

No. Those bots collect training data. Blocking them is your choice. We only score search bots and bots that fetch a page when a person asks about it.

Do you run JavaScript on my page?

No, on purpose. Many AI bots read only the HTML your server sends. If your words appear only after JavaScript runs, those bots may see an empty page.

How many checks can I run?

10 an hour per visitor. It keeps the tool free and stops overuse.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, no email needed.

More detail on every check is in How it works.
